Now this is poetical embellishment! I love the use of imagery, metaphoric choices, lexical clarity and almost romantic voice unfolding. Technique is great.

It evokes the reader, specially this line: Though I long to heed her call, go to her, save her, love her, Though I truly hate the damsel in distress routine.-the girl that requires saving (from her solitary fate!).

I love the element of surprise at the end very much. What a punch line! -I am unable to swim!

Lexical simplicity with outmost power! Good job!
