Smoking Room Respite

Written by LadyArgyle  (4/21/2007 10:23:59 PM)

I like the structure in this one a lot. One really has to think about and read into it much more than the other one I commented on. The reader has to determine whether it is the cigarette or the smoker that is being exiled, when the point is that it is both... am I correct? The only time it is clear that it is the object itself you are referring to is by the interjection between each verse pertaining to how it is being lit. I found this one very interesting and much more literary (if that makes sense). You seem to have a better grasp on both the poetic and metaphorical aspects in this one.
