Night Owl

Night Owl

The nighttime frigidness jolts my once idle soul
Turning five senses into six
and I feel all there is to be felt as spirit and body mix.

Moonlight illuminates hidden beauty
Tinting the scenery
and for that short time blue is the color that speaks to me.

Others are sleeping peacefully
Eyes fluttering to the beat of their dreams
but I find peace in shadows whilst reflecting like a gleam.

Nearby a lonesome owl asks "Who?" and so do I
Both of us wide eyed, intently gazing at the caliginous atmosphere as if performing an inspection
but only one of us is consumed by introspection.
