Carl the Cucumber

Carl the Cucumber

When Carl was a little cuke
He was sweet and good.
He tried to grow the way
His mama said he should.

A friend came by and told him
To dive into the brine.
It would ease his struggle
And make everything so fine.

Carl took the plunge.
He was amazed at what he found.
It was a short cut to pleasure.
He was glory bound.

He didn`t see the lie
In that briny mix.
All he knew was that
He needed another fix.

He didn`t see the sourness
Growing in his soul.
He yelled at his mama
To prove he had control.

He wasn`t a sweet cuke.
He became so fickle.
Others pointed out
He was s sour pickle.

A pickle now and forever,
That`s all that he could be.
He`d never be a sweet cuke.
He was pickled eternally.

Then he stumbled onto
Pickles Anonymous.
He could be a sweet pickle
And not a sour puss.

That`s where you`ll find him,
Living the P. A. way.
Doing things here and now
Like his mama used to say.

He`s a pickle.
A sweet P. A. pickle.
He`s no longer sour.
He`s a sweet, sweet pickle.

He`s a pickle.
A sweet P. A. pickle.
He`s no longer sour.
He`s a sweet, sweet pickle.
