Waiting for the Kids

Waiting for the Kids

My Lauri`s parents called
Each other mother and dad.
Mother would sashay into
The T.V. room and say,
While nudging dad as he
Sat watching T.V.

"Hey dad,what are you doing,
What are you grinning for?"
"Well, mother, I`m just sitting here
Waiting for the kids to come home."

They loved their God, their
Family, and the U.S.A.
He was born on the
The Fourth of July.
On the weekends, you`d find them
Waiting for the kids to come home.

Proud, blessed protestants
They raised six kids.
On the weekends, you`d find them
Waiting for the kids to come home.

Mother and dad worked hard
To be a united team.
On the weekends, you`d find them
Waiting for the kids to come home.

An honest hog buyer with integrity,
He made selling hogs seem fun.
On the weekends, you`d find them
Waiting for the kids to come home.

After the kids left home and
Added kids of their own,
They`d all come home for the holidays.
When they`d get there they`d find them
Waiting for the kids to come home.
