Earth's Requiem

Earth's Requiem

And the sky
begins to weep
great drops of sorrow -
Thick ribbons
of silver pain.
The black clouds
yawn chasms
of icy, deep fears
born from a past
that cannot
be understood
by the Earth's
lost, insane children.
The world
runs away
from itself
without a whimper -
Without a sound,
while a mute sky
mourns in silence
for the cold sickness
it never created -
A dark misery
it never chose.
