Every brick of hate
thrown at me I used
to build a wall

With wicked heart toward my enemies
fervently I built away
to salvage what I could
and enthusiastically I sought to outwit
until I penned myself in
but never left a door

Isolated in my pain
the only words I could hear
I slowly felt the hedges screams
becoming truth to me

And in the hours final tock
with tear stains on my face
you came along and with one touch
turned the bricks to love
and erased the hate

The fort that is built is stronger now
than it had ever been
and despite my fatal design flaws
you also made the door
that let you in
