My 24 Hours - I Wrote a Poem for You

My 24 Hours - I Wrote a Poem for You

At twelve I wrote a poem for you,
at one I tore the poem in two.
At two I remembered something you said,
at three I tried to forget you instead.
At four I smoked my last cigarette,
at five I realized I couldn''t forget.
At six I wondered if you were okay,
at seven I layed down to pray.
At eight I thought of you once again,
at nine I kicked myself for trying to be your friend.
At ten I finally broke down and cried,
at eleven I still felt the pain inside.
At twelve I wrote a poem for you,
at one I tore the poem in two.
At two I remembered your beautiful eyes,
at three I realized all your lies.
At four I wondered who lost, who won,
At five I said, I''m tired, it''s done.
At six I layed and finally slept,
at seven I woke and again I wept.
At eight I felt how cruel you could be,
at nine I realized it wasn''t me.
At ten I could feel you''d broken me in two,
at eleven I felt there was nothing left I could do,
At twelve, through tears, I wrote this poem for you.
But this time I didn''t tear it in two.

"Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light." - Dylan Thomas
