Like all lines perpendicular
Our lives began
and met
And part to move onward

Though I look
And you look
Over shoulders with expressions
Like mourners
(Are we really doing this?
I miss you already.
I can't fall asleep without you)
We keep going.

It is the selfishness of the truly alive.
