How to Be an Ingrate (Gratitude Challenge Poem)

How to Be an Ingrate (Gratitude Challenge Poem)

Oh no, not another platitude
About giving thanks and gratitude!
You better believe that you'll hear
Them tossed around this time of year--
The only way to avoid impact
Is to avoid all social contact.
Don't even turn on the TV
Or gratitude you'll surely see,
Even in unlikely places--
Glowing, perky, smiling faces.
So your best bet's isolation
And self-inflicted privation...
Keep joy, love, and compassion at bay
To ensure gratefulness stays away.

**Hope this fits the challenge...just wanted to try something a little different than a direct counting of blessings (though I have many).
