In my wildest dreams
in my childhood mind
as a young girl

i confess to wanting to dance
not the ballet but jazz, tap, belly dance
jazz dancing

refrain-in my wildest dreams

when i was about 11 years old
my parents thought it proper
for a young girl such as myself
to learn the arts- namely dance, strictly ballet

refrain-in my wildest dreams

although i had other thoughts on my young mind
besides toe shoes and too-too''s
i had dreams of being the worlds best jazz dzncer

refrain-in my wildest dreams
i confess

the irony of the situation i was made to dance the ballet
and wear too-too''s and toe shoes
my well meaning parents had no idea off my longings i kept them well hidden

i could dance like a gazelle
as gracefull as a butterfly
i use to practice for hours not to please myself but my parents

my ballet slippers and ballett outfits had a mind of there own for instance
the pink leotards would cry out
delicate ,lovely ,innocent ballerina

while the music played tchaikovsky or other famous renditions,in my chilhood mind it was
the jazz i longed for with fringe skirts
high heeled shoes, and fish net stockings.

refrain- in my wildest dreams
i confess.
