Death's Transfiguration (challenge # 8)

Death's Transfiguration (challenge # 8)

Centuries lain in twilight satin
Soon the dawn shall bring repose
Casting forth a life now laden
Drowning in his sin, so graven.

Hers was oft the voice of laughing
Hands of softness, love engulfed
Shining white the two incising
Wounds beneath her lilting chin.

His was drawn in to her shadow
Hovered with her every move
So consumed, his joy did canto
Ceased her tender heart, now still.

Never glancing, ever seeing
Eyes of dark, unholy woe
Pulse of cold, crimson streaming
To consummate his earthly peace.

Aimlessly his vast despair
Cursed in every breath he breathes
Life defying, past revolting
Daylight shafts at last shall tear.
