He was a hero among ingenues
from the church of the plausible father
Running rampant through the
homeland , planting hopes and seeds
A wayward soldier painted in
fatigues and selfish dirty deeds

Her two story terracotta hacienda,
a balcony over looking the
cityscape and harbor
Portraits of Jesus Christ and
A Virgin Mary statuette
I can still remember playing in the rain
on sloping streets with my friends
My formitive innocence, laughing
away my mother''s forlorn hail Marys
I was her blessed little secret or
symbolism of broken dreams and regrets
She found peace on her wedding day
I placated a father figure through
colorful hues of stained glass rays
The smell of aromatic Jasmine incense

Dad molds me through his military ranks
Like the wind, we travel through time and
states in our American dream
Discovering my adpoted stars and stripes,
my accent disappearing with age
Why do I still feel the call of my unkown past
My morning star, the father I never knew
These improv dream sequence
that haunts me still

Father Lucifer
you never looked so sane
you always did prefer the drizzle to the rain
tell me that you''re still in love with that Milkmaid
how''re the Lizzies
how''s your Jesus Christ been hanging

nothing’s gonna stop me from floating
nothing’s gonna stop me from floating

he says he reckons I''m a watercolour stain
he says I run and then I run from him
and then I run
he didn''t see me watching
from the aeroplane
he wiped a tear
and then he threw away our appleseed

nothing’s gonna stop me from floating
nothing’s gonna stop me from floating

(Live improv)
And if you call
I''m telling you
you will see through it all
the lies are all behind me now
and if you want
something from her, well
Steve McQueen, I do believe
he keeps listening
and if you want
I''ll take you back
to, to ''84
when you were a young boy
and if you want
something from her, well
I can''t be her
but I can take
take you through a door

Father Lucifer you never looked so sane
you always did prefer the drizzle to the rain
tell me that you''re still in love with that Milkmaid
how''re the Lizzies
how''s your Jesus Christ been hanging
