Out of Control–Challenge 15–A True Story-for D.C.

Out of control,
She wrenched over the toilet,
Her heaving stomach,
Regurgitating
All her pain and powerlessness,
Once again free,
From the putrid emotions.
It was her secret control.
Yet she was out of control.
The freedom never stayed,
And the situation
Began to play itself out
Over and over again,
It was now her ritual;
Her addiction.
It was her secret control,
But its power became
Less and less,
Till finally,
Late one night,
She was out of control.
She swallowed a bottle full of pills,
This time she did not regurgitate –
How ironic.
She died a long, drawn out,
Painful death,
In a cold, sterile hospital room,
Out of control.
