Such Little Words (Confessional Challenge 6)

Such Little Words (Confessional Challenge 6)

In the moment, in my mind,
Such little words,
Weigh as a heavy sack upon my back.
Such little words,
Turn me to a pauper in your eyes.

As the wild flower blooms,
I reach to kiss her tender petals,
Yet such little words,
I cannot overcome,
I cannot pick the flower,
To call my own.

Such little words,
Hold my heart heavy,
I cannot lift my head to speak,
And the wild flower
Watches me in wonder.

Yet at last,
I can bare the weight no longer,
Slowly, head down,
Vulnerability up,
I whisper to the flower’s heart,
“I love you”
That’s it,
Such little words,
To convey so much,
And the wildflower watches me
In wonder.

"The greatest warriors are the ones who stand for peace." H. Near
