Challenge #22 / August Heat Withstand

Challenge #22 / August Heat Withstand

Sky blue rise, waves of heat,
through images day radiates,
shimmering in solar rays
a call to cooling breeze
silent water rippling relief.
Inside foliage water hides
but temperatures now penetrate,
evaporation, greens fade gray.

Sitting under sultry ash tree shade
in silence moistened flesh requests
air in stillness soon will move
one hundred temperature to lower.

Above, a rustle, did I hear?
As upper branches slightly sway
sends message perspiration hears
a whisper with my body shares.

Intensity of Summer scorch
cicadas serenade reports
their love in search confirm
............ when ............

A color splash I somehow missed!
In sunlight full they all stand tall,
pink petals scoff, a moments smile,
August oven bake defeats.

In soil parched and leaves long gone
Lycoris squamigera
a Surprise arrives

Naked Ladies
