The Window Of My Mind

The Window Of My Mind

I have seen round ships windows like individual lanterns, burning softly as the boat glides over dark waters.

I have looked from green country windows at sunlit may fields and the cow parsley bloom.

Now i look from hospital windows at a rubbish strewn railway track, I am weak but have the strength to long for home.

I look out like a prisoner at a dry land -
Bars stripe my skies these days.

I sit and look again from the windows of home. Birds are singing dew sparkles in lush grass.

I journey to that haven, framed by ivy-covered glass, the window of my mind.
