Turning a year older..

Age is just a number
A barometer of your growth
A measure of your struggles
And learnings
A parameter of your wins
And misses

The body will grow old
The faculities will retire
The numbers of breaths credited
To the wallet of life
Will expire
One day...

The dread of losing someone
The fear of being lost
The pain of being betrayed
And questioned
And judged
And rebuked
Will also expire
With the years added to life

You will learn lessons those count
That not all days,men,events,experiences
Are good
Days will be bad
People will judge,betray ,hurt
Events will shock,elate,revive
Experiences will vary as per how you take them

You will know
When to depend,when to relent
When to trust,when to doubt
When to love,when to hate
As the years add to your age

You might look the same
You might talk the same
You might feel the same
But trust me you are not the same

You will outgrow your oldself eventually
Metaphorse in some other
Your definition of happiness,love,success,
Your expectation from people,events,
Will all change
Giving way to a new you

As age is not just a number....
