The Final Chapter.

The Final Chapter.

The mail has come, the day that I dreaded,
In front of me a volume,
Softly bound, each page of our lives spread before me like the falling autumn leaves,
Except, these are the leaves of a book, a book of hidden secrets,
Only our minds dare to tread,
Not a diary of who, when and where!
But a translucent tome of us in love,
Each sheet thats turned, creamy in colour, shouting out in brazen fonts, reads so sweet,
We contributed, alternatively the special moments of our fading years,
A book of time, our changing values, from young and innocent,
Carefully wrapped with the hardening leather of our hearts,
Leading us too scrawl and not care about our words,
What had we become? A book 10 years in age,
Touched by your hands, the closest I ever got too you,
We have never met!
But posted this annual, to and fro, pulling and pushing ourselves to the maximum,
Are we so foolish to believe we could love each other this way?
How could we ever know who we really are,
You there, I here.
I have the book and the last pages are mine,
Its with trembling hand I finish this charade,
Its me sitting here with anguish, tormented, writing, erasing, writing, to get this right,
The Final Chapter.
This is...THE END.
