The definition of our relationship

The definition of our relationship

Some other harsh reality
attacks me now

Bites right in
like I know which of my mistakes
darkens your horizon
today

That darkens the world
I created for you

I laugh nervously

Your frown does not turn to tears
but still sours like some rush
from a heroin needle
until I plead with you;
beg with my eyes wide open

The cold rush of your touch
awakens me, so scares me like a nightmare
that we know all too well together

Lightning strikes
and I cringe in the darkness
wanting your comfort

But it is the thunder
that presses me to you
and somewhere in the middle
I find you

You are my light
and my lips rest gently against yours

The weight of the whole world
is lifted off my shoulders
