Tonight

Tonight

Onerous eyes drift away,
gazing at crawling raindrops,
pinch away flaccid limb.

Scent of moisturized grass,
Basking cold midnight.
Extinguishing dreams.

Slowly but surely,
This silence is lending me its friendship,
Lost within the mirthful lies,
Now I have no body.

I am trying to configure,
how I am making it through,
this moment, this veracity,

But then each moment,
I affirm myself,
I have forgotten all about you,
I affirm myself,
That I am through.

Then why does your memory,
Pours it all back to me,
Chastises every breath I breathe.

These tears,
They don’t let me sleep,
They dance away these memories.

Small people talk about others,

Average people talk about things,

Great people talk about ideas.
