Yesterday, we shared an
intense awareness of each other;
a tightly leased power of fevered
dreams and fantasy; an excitement
bright as a diamond, but today
I see the way you are looking at her.

There is nothing simple about it.
There is a certain light in your
eyes which lends a singular
intensity to your gaze, making
her feel quite as if shes the
only woman left in the
entire universe.

Your hand is slipping away causing
me to be lost to a new fate.
My heart will simply have to
catch up with its new reality and
my brain will have to learn to
selectively remember and
not remember.
