Lamentations - Part Duex

Lamentations - Part Duex

Love - a word of power none can truly comprehend.
It destroys and it creates, it explodes and it shrinks.
Love can bring you to the highest mountain.
And leave you stranded in the loneliest desert

I knew love, or had the notion that I did.
In my mind, it was everything and more.
I experienced joy unmeasurable.
As well as hurt so very profound.

At times, love sheltered me, keeping me safe under its wing.
Other times I had to fend for myself, learning to endure pain.
Like a willow in the breeze
does love lean, this way and that.

But when you have it, here please listen close.
For it is advice so simple, yet so full of depth:
Never let it leave you entirely.
For a life devoid of love is worse than bland.

I heard these words once, in a dream, and I hope
that you will never hear them said.
''I can believe it when you write it to me.
But when ''I love you'' leaves your lips, I know its not true.''

-Poems are not just words written on papers. First, they were words, written in minds, and on hearts.-
