Perfect Proposal

Perfect Proposal

On a moon lit night,
We took a walk on my daddy''s farm.

I was gazing at the stars so bright,
''til I noticed a strange soft light.

The trees by the bridge were all aglow,
I looked at you, a small smile started to show,
Your hand in mine we went to see,
The small bridge was covered in candles bright,
We sat on the bridge like we always do,
Your stammering in conversation was something new.

I then noticed a carving between us,
"What''s this?" I asked
"A date to remember" was your reply.

From under the bridge you pulled a small box,
My heart began to race and my voice became lost,
"Will you marry me?" You asked,
I nodded and smiled; that''s all I could do,
Finally my dream came true.

As I stare down at this small pink stone,
I feel that same warmth in my heart,
The ring it may sparkle on my hand,
Though I will have you know,
In my heart is where it sparkles most.

This needs some finishing touch-ups but for the most part I think I''m finished getting this written out finally.
Thank You for reading, any thoughts are always appreciated.
Engaged 9/1/11 :)

Love,
Lysia
