Lover's Flame

Lover's Flame

The growing flame inside my heart,
A tiny speck that knew no spark,
Was struck here on an empty hearth;
This simple man that bears your mark.
A warmth of will and love now glows;
Stayed by your hand, in tender touch.
You''ve set aflame once chilling coals
That never knew, or felt so much.

In distant dark there dotes a flame
That lilts on loves eternal scroll;
A guiding light that bears your name
Now lingers ever in this soul.
For how could light of love err fade,
When nothing dims this serenade.
