In the Morning

In the Morning

The tender night has gone my love
here beams the morning sun
Tapping lightly on my window
A new day has begun

With soft sunbeams, a tapestry
of golden warming hues
And shimmers of golden raindrops
fresh as dawn''s pearly dew

And yet there lies a quivering
A hunger deep within
that sends a shiver down my spine
an aching on my skin

Who needs this golden bright sunlight
that shines in skies of blue
No warmth does the sunlight display
if I wake without you

Without your eyes that smile of love
in gentle warming sparks
Without your kiss that feeds this sting
of longing in my heart

Within my thoughts, there lies a fear
your love I can''t replace
A love I have only for you
and for your warm embrace

So veil this golden sunlight''s glow
and let the moonlight shine
For in the velvet of my dreams
you always will be mine
