As fondness grows through fits of care
And trust begins to turn the sway,
The intamacy that we share
Is like an intricate ballet.

We live in darkness most our lives,
But, now and then, warmth lights the way
And in that warmth life''s hope survives
To guide us through the gloomy gray.

It''s hard to cope when life is cruel,
We find a lonely place to lay,
Until we meet that special jewel,
Who rights us when we drift astray.

What can be greater than a friend
That stands beside us through the fray?
Friends lift our hearts and let us mend
And this is my friend''s special day.
