I am sorry

I am sorry

I asked you once
not to forget me
though I am afraid
I left a bad taste
in your mouth

I wonder
if you will ever remember
the days
of our glowing youth
like I do

If I ever gave joy to you
somehow true like a sunbeam
between the overcast

Seven years I spent
in solitary
and you were my last hope
of getting free

But you gave three more years
as sentence
when you turned your back and walked away

I try to free myself
from this feeling
because there is another lover
in darkness
Another shadow dark
silhouette I am waiting
to embrace

Just the right eventuality
I was hoping to conquer

And the sun will rise
and night will fall
once again
