Just as I have always been.

Just as I have always been.

Razor sharp fingers touch my rigid soul,
Ripped pieces linger on the floor,
Uncompromising and useless,
Just as I have always been.
Barbed eyes tear into my conscious,
Stripping me bare,
Leaving me incapable and fruitless,
Just as I have always been.
Bitter lips tell pernicious lies,
Of a broken heart that lies tattered and torn,
Despondent and wretched,
Just as I have always been.
