Ode to my hair dyer

Ode to my hair dyer

Ode to my hair dyer
It lives in a small brown drawer,
cord tangled and embellished in diamonds.

It was given to her
and she loved it.
No one could match it
Not the curler,
Not the straightener,
Not the crimper.

The long neck extending from the body
Edges folded melted
Pushing out air
Hotter the the Arabia desert,
stronger then a two ton elephant.

It was given to her
and she loved it.
The smell overwhelming
As if 25 old eggs sat in a window
or a boy not bathing for days.
She didn''t seem to mind.

It was given to her
and she loved it.
