The hold of temptation

The hold of temptation

Take hold of what you want
Stake claim in the soft clay
but do not leave me
in the night with an unplanned pregnancy
to be a teenage mother

And in the translucence
we break out the black light
and dance in the chaos
for the love of a stranger

I take a bottle
and nurse it

Something my hands
have claimed to prove
I am not as worthless as I seem

You take the bar
and fashion it
into a Renaissance for beginners

The precursor to a revival
of Alcoholics Anonymous
where your dress is ripped
as you try to escape the blurred boundaries
of drunkenness

Lines crossed by all the zealots
i's dotted in all the manus

So be proper when all the eyes are on you
and take hold of the trepidation

See it through
to the end of the line
if you want it
but do not cross it
into the judgment of the shadows

Do not cross it
like a criminal

Just see it
to the end

hit me up on Facebook.
