Seeing October from September

Seeing October from September

A cold breeze slapped me
in the face this morning
the same way
she once did

Sun bright like when she left

No screaming
No fussing
Just one door
slowly shutting

No real room
for an argument there
She had to leave sometime

I wanted to be awake
as I stumbled
like a dream
and she calm as a prison break

The trees sway
as I watch
through the window
that she would flow
like spring in this air

Six months later
and my jaw still aches

And her memory still hurts me
like homelessness that I abuse like alcohol

So dear
if you will listen
our love is like a flower

What is dead in winter
may bloom again in spring

So remember us

Do not forget
those calm summer nights
by a lake
we both came to love

hit me up on Facebook.
