Hands shake
Voice quivers
As i say goodbye
I spoke no louder
Than a simple whisper
The words seemed to echo
Off every surface in the room
The craft of leaving isn''t easy

One foot infront of the other
I walked out the door
Sitting on a bench
I stare up at th night sky
Remembering how the moonlight reflects off the ocean
Glittering across our faces

Tonight the moon is hidden from sight
I hang onto an image of happy times
When i looked into his eyes
Believing that he was truly the one for me
Looking around at the empty streets
No longer holding the misery inside

Hot tears run down my face
Catching the attention
Of a beautiful angel
Whose sliver wings encircle me dream-like
My mind is still racing
With questions of i want to remember
Or forget
Deep down i know i need to forget
But the memories plague my thoughts
The craft of forgetting is always remembering
