The Mill

The Mill

Hunched up, I hold my legs and weep,
Pondering why oh why have I no sleep?
A loss spins my head, but the image stays still,
Of you and I placed by the Mill,
The babbling brook that made heaven be ours,
The sun dripped leaves that fell gloriously from the trees,
Turned days and nights into minutes and hours,
As you were taken by the world that sees,
Because you and I have been undone,
Our love had only just begun,
You loved me and I loved you,
It was the only thing the Mill watched true,
I sit here now without you near,
And watch the Mill, churning out its tears,
Its not the same, no laugh, no smile, no lips to kiss,
Its not the Mill, Its you I miss.
