ONE INDESTRUCTABLE LOVE, TWO SELF DESTRUCTIVE LOVERS

ONE INDESTRUCTABLE LOVE, TWO SELF DESTRUCTIVE LOVERS

Tell me not of Fabled Love
Nor of eyes that stare
Tell me not of shoulders draped
With curtains of dark hair
Tell me not of sequestered voice
Nor of a tongue that speaks
Though if I were to have a choice
Your mouth, my secret keeps
Tell me not of melodies
That Joyful Lovers sing
Nor of a heart that dreams in darkness
Of gold and diamond rings
Tell me not of grace and beauty
sent from God above
Nor of poets that write too often
Of unrequited love
The glories of glimpsed destiny
Lay silently in wait
My one immortal wish would be
For you to be my fate
For in my dreams, it''s you I see
Dancing on green pastures
And birds that surf the sky on wings
become the dreamer''s masters
For in deluded, nocturnal thoughts
Vast horizons preserve the hope
Instead of finding hearts that swing
From tightly fitted rope
