To Know The Love I Give

To Know The Love I Give

The Thoughts...

I wish sometimes to just confess
All the hurt I must suppress
But better yet, how about
The ability to erase the doubt
To know a love that''s unquestionable
Burning with a fire that''s insatiable
I can only wonder and wish
To know a love like this
So how does it feel, all that security
In having a love like mine, unconditionally

The Actions...

Bringing me flowers after we fight
Doesn''t make it romantic or right
Saying I love you like a parrot in a cage
Only means less as we grow in age
How many times will you leave scars
By pushing a point a little too far
It''s not about us seeing things differently
It''s about making me feel bad for just being me

The Reality of It...

So I like sappy movies and read corny books
And ok, maybe I don''t have much for looks
I can still feel every sting of every word
The ones you say and the ones you think go unheard
I''m tired my darling, why can''t you see
I''m tired of fighting to justify me
Why can''t you take off your dark tinted glasses
And just appreciate each day with me that passes
For once love me, like I love you
So I can feel a love that, before me, you never knew
