My jeans are a little big.
My shoes are a little tight.
The hairs on my head are lined up, and all in place.

You are still sleeping.
I am watching cartoons.

I know at any point I could leave.
And you would not wake up.

I could do it.
I am prepared to do it.
But, I think I will indulge myself in cartoons.

My life has been reduced to preparing.
For a time and a place beyond this couch.
Beyond my cartoons.

No heaven, no feathers.
Just cold.
Just dark.
Just alone.

I sponge up all the emotions I can now.
One day I will only have a handful of memories to fade with.

Like the time when we loved each other.
Or when I kissed you every morning before I left for my day.

Time has changed us.
Love is a dream for you.
And my life is a cartoon,
With all of its Technicolor lies.

I could leave, and never come back.
I could do it.
I could.
I know I could, one day.

Till then, I prepare instead of live.
