A Quiet Evening

A Quiet Evening

When you smile at me life is so sweet;
My heart still skips whenever we meet,
When I see you for the first time in a day;
Your smile, your eyes, they pin me in place,
And when you lean in close;
And the smell of soap,
And laundry detergent surounds me,
Shivers run down my spine;
And my soul leaps with pleasure,
When your head brushes mine.
Whenever I have a headache,
and I know that Ill see you;
I hold off on the motrin
You make it disapear from view,
You ask me how my day is,
And everythings allright;
The rest of my day is great,
Youve filled it with such light,
And when Im tired, and were alone;
On the couch, you snuggle close,
Lean our heads together,
Beaneath on old quilt;
I listen to your breathing,
And feel my heart melt,
So warm and close and safe;
A quiet sleeping place,
Are your arms to me;
Holding so gently,
My shoulders,
wrapped twice within your arms;
Lightly grasped, silently clasped,
Safe from all harms,
My eyes are heavy,
They start to close;
You smile tenderly
As I start to doze.

Never say you love someone if you dont,
If you do, tell them often, people forget.
