The Mirror of Her Eyes

The Mirror of Her Eyes

Her eyes mirrored the serene, majestic blue-white
of the vast, cottony cloud filled, azure skies above,
and the rich, diamond sparkling velvet blackness
of the star-studded, ebony night dome of the heavens;
flashing the eternal divine breath of ten thousand
universes into my ready, willing brain; spinning my head, stopping my beating, banging heart, and filling my mouth
with an ambrosia never tasted by the gods of Olympus.

I am fulfilled / I am completed / I am reborn
by the mirror of her eyes.

Her eyes mirrored the tumultuous, incendiary red-black
of the cavernous labyrinth of an infinite, echoing darkness,
and the unholy, icy chill of the pewter-grey frozen wasteland,
with skin numbing, teeth rattling, bone snapping winds;
flashing the crackling, roaring, raging inferno of uncountable
fiery hells into my frail, helpless skull; immolating my body,
squeezing, crushing and imploding my chest, and overwhelming
my being with a white-hot brimstone never imagined in
the blackest nightmares of the creeping demons of Perdition.

I am melted / I am shredded / I am destroyed
by the mirror of her eyes.
