How her wings spread wide across the night sky,
what a sight to behold as daylight dies,
the glow of a thousand captured eyes,
follow her feathers to their demise.

I envy you, sweet angel of the night,
yet you are more blind than I.
As the sun rises, you become ash,
falling from the heavens in a cradle of brightest flame,
and the sun claims the skies once again.
