In Fear Of Impulse.

In Fear Of Impulse.

My spontaneous tide is flooding in
the kind I need to be funny,
to help ingratiate a sour togetherness,
but with eggs in my pockets
I don't want to bump anyone do I?

Warming up to Valentines
passion prompts a card,
she would know it was I
and be on the phone
screaming not to bother her.

Afraid I could come down
with a severe spree of instinctive
fondness,
knowing I would be in for a
giant rollicking with knobs on,
I will spend the day in bed
wrapped in my cacoethes cocoon
until the post office closes
and the peril goes plodding past.
