Flotsam and Jetsam.

Flotsam and Jetsam.

We ran the course
fast love and rivers might
a tumbling knot
between the rocks
in undulating flight.

Meandering together
midway from any shore
It's there we fought loud rapids
with neither hope nor oar.

Washed apart on distant bank
she beckons me a wave
I feel no need to bridge our gap
so tempt a watery grave.
