I think it's been a day or two
It could well be a week
all I know she left my heart
embedded in concrete.

It may well take a second
or extend into an hour
before I shed this wilted look
and venerate a flower.

Time could stretch a month
or more,
or even take a year
before my heart is thawed
enough for any sort of tear.

Might well take a century
for sourness to pass
by that stage
I'm in my grave
pushing up the grass.
