Letter to You...

Letter to You...

So I thought I'd go out some place to take my mind off of stuff,
When I got to my destination even the atmosphere around me wasn't enough.

Enough to stop my mind from going in circles over and over, ended up on a barstool watching people drink and clearly many weren't sober.

I called out to the bartender so while he was on his way over, I started to think,
I guess I'll just stay in this place for an hour and maybe order a drink.

He turned around, went to the fridge, and pulled out a cold bottle,
I took a few sips slowly, still not ready for full throttle.

Maybe this will help me from all these thoughts of you,
Clear my mind enough to give me peace so that I can pull through.

Just one night not wondering, not thinking, not imagining different scenes,
My mind plays tricks on me and keeps telling me not to be mean.

You see, my head beats and lives to play out these visions,
The contents of this bottle turns my mind on itself and the whole point of this night is wiped clean of its mission.

I haven't even finished one drink and automatically I know if I order more than the whole night's been wasted and fell through,
I haven't stopped thinking and now the words came down on this paper as a form of my letter to you.
