Hungry Night

Hungry Night

As the door slowly
sweeps across the carpet
and closes off the light,
I catch a glimpse of her
hungry smile and her
warm glazy eyes.
The darkness swallows
us whole while we
reach out for the sweet
fulfillment with hot
trembling hands and
wet famished mouths.
Lost in the grey shadows,
the burning hunger is
satisfied while the unseen
forgotten clock ticks away
the unheeded minutes
and our noisy animal
passions fill the dark room
with predatory heat.
