She Comes To Me In Autumn

She Comes To Me In Autumn

She comes to me in autumn,
when the October trees wear
garments of burnished gold
and the fall leaves wave in
the crisp air with crimson
ripples and rust-colored hue.
She comes to me in autumn,
when my aging heart is born
anew by the touch of her hand
and my chill spirit is warmed
and comforted from the heat
of her fresh, summery eyes.
