Missing Her Tonight

Missing Her Tonight

The quiet hand of evening
paints the sky a cool auburn as
the sun dips down into the sea.
I'm missing her tonight.
The full autumn moon is
ringed with a fuzzy silver halo
as the stars pop out from the black.
I'm missing her tonight.
Somewhere off in the dark distance
a train whistles a lonely melody
as the crickets chirp the rhythm.
I'm missing her tonight.
Missing her so much it hurts.
