How She Walked

How She Walked

She wore lies
like a pair of
comfortable shoes,
always walking
in soft,
sure
silence.
She carried hearts
like a heavy sack
of potatoes,
dragging along
on a
bumping,
bruising
ride.
She wore love
like a pair of
smelly old socks,
always shedding
at the
first hint
of
discomfort.
