The Lady

The Lady

She chases all the ghosts away
and crushes the skeletons to dust.
Her breath dissolves the morning fog,
while honey drips from her smile.
She creates light from the darkness
and sends a song up into the sky.
Her eyes paint the flower petals,
filling the air with a sweet perfume.
She frightens all the demons away
and covers my dry bones with flesh,
as my once-dead heart begins to
pump with a joyous new rhythm.
