Her Light

Her Light

She shines like diamonds
as her song floats up to the sky,
folding into the clouds
and whistling among the stars.
[I found her in the forest,
the shadowy trees pounding out
a hollow echo of haunting melodies
as a chill wind lapped at
the distant rocky hillside]
She glistens like gold
as her smile speaks to the sun,
opening the Earth with a tremble,
spilling its ancient secrets.
[I saw her standing by the ocean,
her eyes chasing away the cold
and sending a ripple of warm laughter
rolling and tumbling
over the crashing foamy waves]
She glows like sparkling gems
as her hair spins on the wind's loom,
whipping the foggy air
with ropy satin and silken amber
while the air stills with a hush
and the darkness is destroyed
by her light.
